They are indeed difficult and labor intensive. Linda says that's why they're only made at xmas, traditionally. I'll post the photos and maybe a recipe tomorrow.Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14267992548353102352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3888222455650809750.post-34647294370879802842009-02-17T16:35:00.000-08:002009-02-17T16:35:00.000-08:00This is exactly like the pico de gallo I make. Ev...This is exactly like the pico de gallo I make. Everything I know about mexican food I learned from a cookbook by Chef Rick Bayless. I highly recommend the book. It is called Authentic Mexican and it has a wealth of information about traditional cooking techniques and ingredients. I have had my copy for 20 years and they have just released a 20th anniversary edition. Here is the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Authentic-Mexican-20th-Anniversary-Ed/dp/0061373265/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234917181&sr=8-1 . I have made alot of the recipes in the book and am currently trying to drum up the courage to attempt tamales.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08305999892489931116noreply@blogger.com
